This blend brings back memories of our the first Bordeaux-stye wine we made from the a tiny vineyard we planted on Howell Mountain. Like that wine, and in contrast to the earlier Tradition blends, this blend takes more of “left bank” orientation this year with its emphasis on the structure, dark fruit and backbone that the Cabernet Sauvignon provides, along with a strong supporting role of Petit Verdot, which delivers the inkiness and floral aromas. Rich, supple old-vine Merlot rounds out the blend, complemented by just enough Cabernet Franc to add a touch of spice, red fruit and texture to the finish. Sourced from both sides of the Columbia River. 273 cases produced. 13.2% alcohol. 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Petit Verdot, 20% Merlot, 9/% Cabernet Franc. 29% New French oak (Seguin Moreau, Claude Gillet).
New addition of Petit Verdot!
